Less than 4 weeks to go!
We had our 16 week check-up on Monday with our new doctor - Dr. Streiff. Terry and I both enjoyed sitting down with her and asking all of our questions including those around the H1N1 vaccine. The vaccine will be available in October and pregnant women are at the top of the priority list. Terry was also strongly encouraged to receive the vaccine too. Dr. Streiff checked/found the baby's heartbeat with no problems - everything sounded good! Our next appointment is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 13th and that is the big ultrasound when we'll find out the baby's gender. Instead of just calling all of our family members, we're actually going to make everyone wait until that Saturday at our housewarming party. It's going to be a fall themed party with food, alcohol and family - oh and a BIG suprise at the end!

Well I finally did it...
I finally admitted to myself that my pre-pregnancy pants no longer fit me and I went shopping for preggo clothes last night. My mom gave me a gift card for Motherhood Maternity for my birthday a few weeks ago therefore I decided to start there thinking I could get a few things and not spend a dime. I should have known better. Before I left for the mall, I ate a small salad for dinner thinking "even though I'm trying on preggo clothes I'm not going to go feeling fat"...boy was I in for a surprise. I made Terry go with me so I wouldn't end of buying anything that would make me look like a tent. As soon as we walked into the store, the saleswoman immediately came up to me and said "you don't look like you want to be shopping here". For those of you who have been listening to me whine about this terrible in-between stage where nothing fits me but I don't actually look pregnant than you know what my face probably looked like when I walked into the store. The saleswoman had obviously dealt with women like me because she asked me what my pre-pregnancy size was and off she went to start a dressing room for me. I pulled maybe 3 things to try on with Terry's advice and when I opened the curtain to the dressing room, we were both like "wow"! The lady had pulled gobs of clothes - at least 10 pairs of pants both casual and work, sweaters, shirts, bras, etc. You name it! At first I was kind of excited, you know the feeling when you're about to buy something new... but then my eyes made contact with a very scary pillow with velcro arms. The saleswoman told me that I could try on the clothes with the pillow to show me what I would like 3 months from now. In my mind I was thinking 3 months will be right around the holidays - Thanksgiving and Christmas. I started trying on the pants and then Terry was insistent that I try them on with the pillow. I'm not going to lie - I had a meltdown and I cried. In my mind, I knew this was just a pillow and not my body but it was awful. Even Terry tried to make me feel better by saying "I don't think anyone's stomach looks like that..." The pillow had obviously seen better days and was extremely lumpy and out of shape. I looked as though I had an alien protruding from my stomach. Needless to say, from there on I didn't try on any clothes with the pillow. I just tried to stick my stomach out as far as it could go and those of you who know me well, know that I've been able to look as though I'm pregnant since I was in grade school...this body trick finally came in handy!
I actually ended up finding some really cute clothes and I left there with corduroys, jeans, shirts and sweaters. I spent way more than my gift card but at least I'm set for awhile in the clothes department.
