Looks like Sunday is the big day!
Sunday, February 21st will be my 39th week and it looks as though it will also be Jack's birthday (or Monday depending on how long labor lasts). I'm being induced at 8 p.m. therefore look out for pictures and more posts to follow next week. Wish us luck!!

30 days to go...
Jack at 35 weeks & 2 days
So I went in for an ultrasound on Tuesday because at my last appointment I was measuring small...yes I know all my friends out there that have had babies or are pregnant are rolling their eyes but truthfully I don't care because I'm still gaining the weight I'm supposed to - so there! Anyway back to my ultrasound...there is nothing to worry about and he does not have any growth issues because he's already a whopping 5.5 lbs!! Yes you read that correctly - just the weight he should be at 35 weeks. As you can tell from my tone, I'm a little sick of everyone telling me how small I am and how my baby must be tiny, yada yada yada....He's not tiny - he's perfect! On another note, I'm switching physicians (again) but this time due to a very sad reason, my doctor's 17 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia last week. She'll be out indefinitely therefore I'm going to be seen and most likely delivered by one of her partners.
I was also told that I'll most likely go until my due date since I'm a first time mom and I show no signs of pre-term labor (not to get into graphic details for the men that read this blog). This gives Terry and I just 4 weeks to enjoy being a couple - we're going to go on lots of dates, eat at tons of restaurants and sleep in while we still can.

Baby Shower & Nursery Pictures
Jack's Nursery - My wonderful Aunt Lisa came over last weekend and painted Jack's room with jungle animals. As you can see from the pictures - we have a giraffe, monkey, palm tree, elephant and 2 birds. I just love the way it turned out!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year -
Wow 2009 really flew by! So much happened for us, it's almost surreal to look back...I had just started a new job with Susan G. Komen St. Louis (Nov. '08), we found out we were pregnant in June and then we bought and moved into a new house in August! Now we're about 7 weeks away from meeting our son Jack and I have a feeling 2010 is going to be just as exciting!
Some updates since the last time I posted:
- glucose test was negative - yeah!
- started our baby classes at the hospital - so far not worth our time...9 hour class could have been taught in 2 hours max. However it was funny to see and hear all of the dads that just didn't have a clue. One guy asked where he was going to sleep and did the hospital feed him - seriously??! Terry and I almost fell out of our chairs laughing...at least this Saturday, we'll be able to tour the maternity ward at the hospital and get some baby care basic training.
- working on the nursery - my wonderful Aunt Lisa has generously offered to paint for us. Not only do Terry and I both despise painting but Lisa actually enjoys it and is very talented at drawing animals therefore she's going to paint the walls yellow and then paint jungle animals in bright colors :) I will post pictures in a few weeks.
- my girl friends from high school threw me a fun circus themed shower over the holidays and I got some really cute stuff including a beautiful cross-stitched quilt from my Grandma Gordon that will be displayed proudly in Jack's room
I have a big family shower for both sides (Terry & mine) coming up on January 23rd therefore I'll make sure to take some pictures to post.
Til then - stay warm!

Less than 11 weeks to d-day...
This is my favorite picture that Lissy took a few weeks ago :)
Okay so I'm now 29 weeks and a few days along...Terry and I went out to dinner last night and commented on the fact that if everything goes according to schedule we'll have a baby in less than 11 weeks - aaahhh!!
Actually that was my response - Terry's response was "I'm really looking forward to Jack arriving - it will be fun". I want everyone to remember that he said that when we're getting up every 2 hours to feed, change and calm a screaming child. Don't get me wrong - I'm very excited to meet our son and start this new chapter in our life together. I just think I'm a little more realistic in the sense that I know the first 3 months are going to be really hard and a huge adjustment. So far (knock on wood) my pregnancy has been great and I've actually really enjoyed it. Besides the weight gain, I love the fact that I can always feel Jack moving and kicking inside of me. I like that strangers (for the most part) are nice to me and I don't feel bad when I eat an extra cookie. I'm not going to lie - I am very nervous about the labor and delivery portion of the pregnancy...the whole thing grosses me out. Terry and I start our "Child Birth 101" classes in a few weeks so hopefully we'll get the answers to a lot of our questions. Otherwise I guess we'll be winging it! We also received the rest of our nursery furniture last weekend which Terry's parents were kind enough to pick up and drop off for us - this allowed us to save $184 on shipping costs. Although after Terry and his dad lugged this 300+ lb dresser up the stairs I'm sure both of them would have gladly paid the shipping costs.
Alright well I'm off to have my gestational diabetes test...cross your fingers that it's negative!

Pictures from housewarming party...
First of all I just have to say I have the best father-in-law in the world! Not only does he know that I love pie but he always brings me back a slice when goes to the cabin. For those of you not familiar, the cabin is in Union, MO and there is a fabulous diner called Lewis Cafe and they serve amazing pie! Usually he brings me a slice back on a Sunday afternoon and Terry and I will drive to South County to have dinner and I'll eat my pie. But today he surprised me by driving all the way out to my office (on his way back from deer hunting all weekend) just to bring me a piece of blackberry pie. Is that not the SWEETEST thing!! Therefore I'll say it again - I have the very BEST father-in-law in the world!!
On to the pictures - my lovely aunt Cynthia, who drove all the way from Kansas City to come to our housewarming party a few weeks ago, took some pictures of the festivities. Please ignore the fact that I looked like a wreck...no make-up, acne, and the fact that I didn't sleep the night before led to my train-wrecked appearance.
Dad & I (baby bump)
Our sweet nephew Jeffrey who will be exactly 3 years older than Jack in February. We couldn't tell if he wanted his cup or Baba's (grandpa Terry) wine.
My new china cabinet!!

Belly Pictures
Last weekend we had my friend Lissy Early take some fall pictures of us before Jack is born. I didn't want the typical big belly pregnancy pictures but I did want to capture the essence of being pregnant. I have always thought it was weird that I have absolutely no pictures of my mom pregnant with me. Therefore here are my 24 week belly pictures for those of you who have been asking! I also had my 24 week doctor's appointment and was told that I need to lay off the sweets and carbs - what does that tell you...
