Tummy Time!

Okay let's just say it's a good thing that Jack started daycare because I was really bad at the developmental stuff...big example: tummy time.  You're supposed to put a baby on its stomach for at least 10 minutes a day.  Jack was lucky if he got 10 minutes a week when I was on maternity leave.  Terrible...I know!!  But now he gets lots of tummy time at daycare...sometimes up to 30 minutes a day.  And now we actually do it every night and he doesn't seem to hate it as much.  Here are some pictures:

Jack turned 3 months old on Friday!

My first week back at work went great!  We are super swamped gearing up for the largest Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in the country.  We are expecting over 70,000 in downtown St. Louis on June 12th and we're CRAZY right now.  Jack also did exceptionally well at daycare this week.  His teachers sent me pictures every day of him smiling which really helped ease my anxiety.

Jack turned 3 months old on Friday and since we don't have a check up this month I weighed him myself - 12 lbs 6 oz.  He's getting close to doubling his birth weight and he's now in his 3-6 month clothing.  His favorite activity is sucking his thumb - sometimes both at the same time.  It's so adorable!  I know I'm going to eat my words in a few years but at least for now he's self soothing when he doesn't have a pacifier.

I'm going back to work :(

So tomorrow I'm going back to work after being off for 12 wonderful weeks...I can't honestly say I'm excited but I know I'll enjoy it once I get back into the swing of things.  I took Jack to day care for a few hours on Thursday and Friday so he could get used to it.  Who am I kidding?  It was really so I could get used to it and I'm happy to say I only cried for about 2 hours on Thursday after I dropped him off.  Terry thought I was insane - he kept saying "You know you can just go and pick him up if you miss him that much"...guys just don't get it.  Tomorrow will be the worst but then I heard it gets easier.  Big News!  Jack has a trick :) When you blow on his face, he gasps and his eyes get really wide.  I tried to capture it on the video camera but you couldn't really hear it because the tv was on too loud.  Here are some pictures from the last few weeks:

We're going on a road trip...

Jack and I are driving to Kirksville tomorrow to hang out with Grandma, Papa and the Uncles for a few days.  It will be Jack's first long drive and considering how much he hates his car seat, I'm really nervous since it will just be me.  Terry and I will be taking him back to Kirksville next weekend for our mock Easter with Great Grandma & Grandpa.  I'm considering this a test run.

1 month old

Jack turned 4 weeks old Sunday night at 11:15 p.m.  I cannot believe it's been a month already!  Jack had his 1 month pediatrician's visit today and he's in both the 50% for height and weight.  This totally surprised me since he gained almost a whopping 3 lbs since he was born!  He is now 9.7 lbs and 21 inches long.  Below are a few pictures that Lissy took last week.
