6 Months Old...where does the time go?
Jack turned 6 months old on Saturday...is it just me or did time just fly by?? It makes me sad to think that life goes by so fast. You really have to take a breath and just soak it all in because before you know it - it's over. But at the same time, I'm really excited for things to come. Jack is growing like a weed! I can't wait until his 6 month appointment (week of Labor Day) to see how tall he has grown. He seems so long and lean. I weighed him tonight and he's still my string bean at 15.8 lbs...but he's finally ready to graduate into size 2 diapers. The tooth that broke through on Wednesday is razor sharp!! And he loves when he bites our fingers and we say OUCH! He just smiles and continues to gnaw away.On Saturday Jack and I went over to Lisa and Mark's and picked up some great stuff! Lisa packed up all of Caroline's baby stuff (toys, an activity mat, an exersaucer, a porta-crib, etc.) and we loaded it up to give to Grandma and Papa in Kirksville. This way we don't have to lug stuff back and forth when we go to visit - score! Then Papa, Uncle Ryan and Uncle Andrew showed up that evening because Ryan and Andrew went to the Card's game today. Jack LOVES his Papa...it's really cute how he lights up around my dad :) Speaking of LOVES - Jack tried peas today and HOLY COW he couldn't eat them fast enough!
AMAZING!
Terry drove all the way to The Blue Owl in Kimmswick, MO to pick up this cake up for my birthday. There are no words to describe its goodness - layers of chocolate brownie, strawberry preserves, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate fudge icing and topped with dark & milk chocolate covered strawberries - YUM YUM!
Another picture of the floor (living room)
Jack and his Papa & Uncles (minus Ben)
Ready for some more peas - please!
Lissy came out yesterday and took his 6 month pictures but the sneak peak isn't ready yet. Pictures to come...

Happy Birthday to Me! *Edited*
So it was my 27th birthday yesterday and it was fabulous! Yesterday I woke up to find this:
This is a Sugerboo design that I have coveted since early on in my pregnancy. The sweetest thing was I only mentioned this once to Terry and it was at least 9 months ago therefore not only did he remember...but he even remembered the exact one I wanted. This is one of the many reasons I LOVE him!! If you can't read it, it says
"You are the poem I dreamed of writing, the masterpiece I longed to paint. You are the shining star I reached for in my ever hopeful quest for life fulfilled. You are my child. Now with all things I am blessed"
& that is a picture of Jack when he was about 4 weeks old in the center on a floating picture box.
**Then while I was at work I got the sweetest email with the subject line "Birthday message from Jack" aka from his teachers at school. It said "Mommy I got you something special for your birthday - a tooth broke through today!"
His front left tooth broke through on his bottom gum. He's getting so big!!!
Then I got to spend the evening with my two favorite boys:
Mommy & Jack
Jack & Daddy
Finally - Here are two pictures of my new wood floors! They extend throughout the entire first floor however the dining room was the only room that was clean enough for a picture :)

Sweet Potatoes & Bath Time
Jack tried his first vegetable this weekend - sweet potatoes!
Before picture
After picture :)
On a side note: Jack loves his bath time. Main reason - he LOVES wash clothes!
See below for a typical bath routine.
Finally realizing that bath time is over...very sad :(
We go through this every night.
Terry's family took me out for an early birthday dinner :)
Love this picture!

Or his eyes are really open!
Napping on Papa
Love this picture of Jack Ryan & Uncle Ryan!!
Jack thinks his Uncle Andrew is pretty entertaining...
Proud Papa and handsome boy
Jack LOVES his rice cereal
Doesn't he look big in his high chair?!
Look who can sit up!!
As long as Momma is close by :)

Amazing Weekend
We did absolutely NOTHING this weekend and it was AMAZING! Don't you just love weekends when you don't have a single thing to do? It was picture perfect - Terry, Jack and I hung around all weekend just enjoying each other's company. Jack and I had a date night on Friday (while Terry played poker) and it was wonderful. We napped, made dinner, sat on the front porch and snuggled before bedtime. Saturday morning (was my morning - Terry & I switch off) and Jack slept until 6:45 (yeah!), he ate breakfast and went back to bed. Since I was up, I went out and got donuts (another yeah!) and surprised Terry with donuts and coffee. After Jack woke up from his morning nap, we all went out and picked up our new hardwood floor (3rd yeah! for the day) - all 2,300 lbs of it! Little did I know that each box was approximately 75lbs and 7ft long (32 boxes total) ...should have just paid the $200 delivery charge. We're having the floors installed the week of August 16th (Happy Birthday week to me!!) and I'm thrilled! We've been talking about doing this since we moved in last August - the wood floors will extend throughout our entire main floor including the kitchen and bath. I'll make sure to post pics when finished.
The rest of the weekend consisted of watching "True Blood" (we rented the entire 1st season), grocery shopping, mowing the yard and grilling out. Good times!
Here are some pics of Jack visiting Gigi (my grandma) last week:

Gigi thinks Jack looks just like her - what do you think?
Gigi asked Jack "where is the light" - and he looked up. Brilliant!
Below is a picture of Jack hanging in his car seat while Daddy loaded the flooring:
If you're wondering why Terry is never pictured it's because he doesn't want me to post any pictures of him unless they're approved (by him) first. So since this one wasn't approved I'll just show his lap :)
