Post 1 of many - Jack's 1st Birdie Par-Tee!!

Dessert Table

Cake & Oreo Pops (notice how they are decorated like golf greens, balls, argyle)

 Cupcake Tower

Cookies (My wonderful & talented neighbor & friend made the cookies and decorated all the cupcakes and Oreo pops - She's AMAZING!!!)

Jack's Great Grandma Gordon made all the chocolate covered pretzels and marshmallow pops

I made golf bucket favors for the 3 three year olds.  They included golf ball molded crayons, coloring books, golf visors & stickers to decorate and a brightly colored golf balls for them to play the putt-putt game on the front porch.

The following pictures go in chronological order because I had an image of a picture that I wanted in my head (thanks Annie & Beckett for the inspiration!) therefore here are the steps to get a perfect picture :)
1st step - stand up

Oops - or maybe sit down

Okay let's try that again but this time let's secure the balloons

Here we go...

Almost there

even smiling but just need to let go...

Let go Jack!

Yeah!!! Perfect picture :)

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy

One year ago at this very minute I was in labor...and at 11:15 PM I gave birth to the most beautiful, perfect and  amazing baby boy.  It was the start of the most eventful wonderful year of my life.  I LOVE YOU more than life itself Jack and I'm so very proud and honored to be your Mama!

We celebrated Jack's birthday on Saturday with lots of family and friends including my wonderful grandparents that flew in all the way from Texas to spend Jack's birthday weekend with us.  And I have lots of pictures to post but first I really want to share what we did today on his actual birthday.

Jack got his first haircut.

Waiting with Daddy before his appointment

Jack got to get his hair cut in a Jeep - notice how relaxed he was pre-cut with his feet up (ha!)

Stylist Carrie sprayed down his hair with water first
He wasn't too sure about her...

Things got better once she turned on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for him to watch
(they have TVs set up in front of the chairs with lots of DVDs to choose from)

"Hey I'm trying to watch Mickey here!"

Daddy let Jack play with his phone towards the end because he got a little impatient once the stylist started using the clippers along his neck.

Look at the BIG boy!!

aaahhh his mullet is gone :)

Jack's favorite part was the sucker :)

It was his first sucker and he didn't want to let go of it for anything!

So sweet!

Jack's ONE!!!

He didn't want his birthday to end...

Party/weekend pictures will come later this week!

I know I know...

It has been forever since I've updated the blog however in my defense we have been pre-occupied.  First Jack got sick and I mean really really sick for the first time.  He came down with a fever (102-103) that wouldn't go away for two days therefore I took him to his pediatrician who diagnosed him with RSV.  Two days later his fever spiked to over 105.1 therefore we rushed him to the ER (where we spent 4+ hours).  This of course was the same evening we received about 8 inches of snow.  That was a fun drive home at midnight!  It was determined that Jack also had a double ear infection which apparently can spike fevers if 'stupid' parents decide to let their 'sick' child take a bath.  Scariest night of my life yet!  This was all followed by me coming down with the worst cold/sinus infection that I can ever remember.  It lasted 2 weeks...ugh.  Now I'm in a mad rush to finish all the last minute touches on Jack's 1st 'Birdie Par-Tee' - I'm soooo excited for Saturday.  Lot's of party pictures next week - I promise!

Since a blog post is boring without a picture I'll leave you with this one taken at daycare:

A little late posting this...11 months

Jack turned 11 months on Friday - aaahhh!!! My baby is going to be 1 in less than one month.  It's absolutely CRAZY how time flies.  Everyone told me the first year goes by so fast but you don't realize it the first 4 months because you're just trying to survive, the next 4 months are filled with milestone after milestone, then the holidays hit and BAM!  my baby is almost ONE!!

I will tell you that I'm super excited about Jack's golf/argyle themed "1st Birdie" bash in a few weeks.  I've been working my tail off to pull together the best birthday he'll never remember (as Terry says)...but that's okay because I'll remember and we'll have pictures to prove it!  More about that later - here are a few of his monthly pics:

Get that camera out of my face!
